Vinho Verde

This is the northernmost Vinho Regional. It is bordered by Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. Vinho Verde is a relatively mountainous area, the highest point being the Serra da Peneda at 1250m. The grapes are predominantly Alvarinho, Loureiro and Trajadura. The soil is mostly infertile granite. The temperatures are mild throughout the year with high rainfall and sea breezes from the Atlantic. Our producers are based around Melgaço and in São Julião.
