Gloria Reynolds 2009
The Story:
This is absolutely the tops from the Reynolds stables of brilliant wines. When we first chose our wines, we were unsure of our customer base and decided we should stick with mid range wines. We soon realised that many of our customers were beginning to ask for more complexity. Well, not before time, here it is. This is, for us, the optimum expression of the Alentejo.

Technical Information
Classification: Vinho Regional Alentejano
Grape: Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira
Terroir:
This vineyard is the closest to the winery thus allowing the grapes to be as fresh as they possibly as they reach the winery within minutes of being harvested.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at night while it is still cool. The varieties are kept separate at this stage. They are destalked and the juice poured into Seguin Moreau French oak vats for fermentation. Fermentation is therefore delayed while the juice enhances its flavours. After fermentation, the wine is placed in French oak barrels for 24 months. The bottling process is preceded by filtration and the final blend. The wine is left in bottle for a further five years before being offered to the market.
